About us
OJ Health and Safety Solutions Ltd was established in 2007. Our sole aim of the business was to bring an uncomplicated solution to companies requiring a practical and honest safety partner, allowing companies to concentrate on the day to day running of the business.
Since our inception our client base has developed substantially, ranging from small local companies to large limited organisations nationally.
Due to our growth and expansion in August 2009 we burst out of our old office and relocated! We are now based in the RCM Business Centre, Ossett, Wakefield. This in turn, has enabled us to expand our services, thanks to the great facilities provided at RCM we are now able to provide a wide range of training courses as part of our health and safety support.
Our aim:
Is to provide a first class service to all our clients and ensure that they are kept fully up to date with all the documentation and any legislations changes. Our clients know that we are only a phone call away.

How do we do this?
We are always one step ahead of the game when it comes to updates and changes in legislation. We listen to our clients requirements and ensure that a health and safety package and more importantly a service, is created that matches their needs and is bespoke to their business and employees.
Neil Denning, our Senior Health and Safety Consultant and Managing Director, has been involved in health and safety for over 10 years. Starting as an Assistant Health and Safety Manager for a manufacturing company with no recognised qualifications Neil now holds various qualifications of which include:
- Honours Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (2:1)
- Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner
- Member of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management
- Chartered Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
- NEBOSH National Certificate
- IOSH Managing Safely
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Qualified
- Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Professional Trainer
Kelly Denning is OJ’s Financial Director. Kelly has a wealth of experience within finance and accounts and is responsible for all the financial side of the business and keeps us in check!
Sarah Godfrey is OJ’s Operations Director. Sarah is responsible for the day to day running of the business, liaising with clients new and established and creating new business opportunities.
Robert Heakin is OJ Safety's Manchester Office Manager. Robert started work in the construction industry as a trainee scaffolder then progressed to become a full time Health and Safety advisor after gaining a Health and Safety Law Degree from Salford Law School. Robert has worked on some of the North West’s largest construction projects including Media City UK and Fiddlers Ferry FGD project.

As you can see both our internal safety practitioners have had a manual background which enables us to get a better insight in the workplace. We understand that businesses have to get the job done so, we ensure we take all the hassle out of the safety side of the business letting you get on with the job in hand.
OJ Safety also use two other safety professionals who are both Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners with a combination of 20 years of experience in the safety industry.
